Zendrop vs DSers: choose your Shopify supplier route
Built from Zendrop and DSers pricing pages, help documentation and their Shopify App Store listings, checked October 6, 2026. We have not used, bought, installed, connected or tested either tool.
For a Shopify beginner comparing Zendrop vs DSers, the deciding question is where you want to buy the products. DSers Basic is a viable free-subscription starting point for AliExpress orders you place and pay for yourself. Zendrop fits a catalog-and-sourcing-quote route, but importing products and processing orders require a paid plan. Check that route before choosing a subscription, then check which Zendrop billing model your account actually has.
Zendrop or DSers? Match the supplier route first
- Choose DSers Basic for a small AliExpress catalog if you can handle supplier payment yourself and do not depend on paid features. Its pricing page lists Basic as free, with 3 stores and 3,000 products.
- Consider Zendrop for its catalog or a sourcing quote. Its order-status guide says to link a catalog product or request a quote for an unlisted one. Confirm the actual product and destination before committing to that route.
- If hands-off ordering is essential, check the supplier-specific process. DSers documents automatic placement for Alibaba.com and its Supplier Agent Network, not a universal automatic AliExpress checkout. Zendrop documents automated fulfillment on paid plans.
Decision basis: DSers pricing, DSers Auto-Place Orders, Zendrop order statuses and Zendrop plans, checked October 6, 2026. This is a workflow choice, not a ranking of supplier quality or delivery speed.
A first billed-cycle software example, not a store budget
Assume one Shopify store, monthly billing, no optional add-ons, no annual prepayment or promotion, and any trial finished. Compare 20 products in DSers with a Zendrop Flex peak of 20 linked products throughout the billed cycle. DSers store and supplier-product counts both stay at 20. Zendrop has no minimum commitment above its usage tier.
For the Zendrop example, assume 25 orders qualify for its published small-order fee. That is an explicit scenario input, not an average: the fee guide charges $0.20 on orders totaling less than $10. The calculation is 25 × $0.20 = $5. The guide does not fully define threshold composition or grouping, so check qualification at checkout.
| Route and cycle inputs | Subscription | Specified processing fee | Scoped software subtotal |
|---|---|---|---|
| DSers Basic, 20 products, individual AliExpress ordering | $0 | Not included in this subscription-only comparison | $0 subscription |
| Zendrop Flex, peak 20 linked products, 25 qualifying small orders | $29 | 25 × $0.20 = $5 | $34 |
| Zendrop Flex, peak 21 linked products, same qualifying orders | $49 | 25 × $0.20 = $5 | $54 |
Table sources: DSers pricing, Zendrop Flex billing, Zendrop small-order fee and the DSers and Zendrop Shopify listings. Prices as of October 6, 2026; listings specify USD. Basic has no subscription bill, so its row covers the equivalent period. The table includes only the named subscription and processing charges, not unknown fees treated as zero.
The extra linked product changes Zendrop's documented tier. Removing it later does not erase that cycle's peak. These are calculated examples, not checkout quotes or equal-feature packages. Goods, shipping, Shopify's subscription, tax, payment-provider charges and other unpriced services are outside the subtotal.
Zendrop billing depends on your account, not just Shopify
The Zendrop billing overview says: "A Shopify or Wix store can be on either model depending on how you signed up."
Standard plans are flat-rate subscriptions billed directly through Zendrop, available to users who joined before the billing-model switch. Flex is the current new-signup model and bills through Shopify or Wix. Do not assume your Shopify connection makes the public Standard prices available to you.
Zendrop's public pricing advertises Pro at $49 monthly and Plus at $79. The Standard plan documentation identifies those monthly prices with the legacy model. The Flex guide instead sets these bands:
- 1 to 20 linked products: $29 per month.
- 21 to 100: $49 per month.
- 101 or more: $79 per month, capped.
Flex uses the highest linked-product count reached during the billing cycle, with any selected minimum-tier commitment acting as a floor. The guide says the account moves automatically to the appropriate tier when usage rises. The trial-end product count can lock the first-cycle peak; trial length depends on the account's plan and promotion. Check the Billing page for the actual end date and commitment.
Order count is a different measure. The Zendrop plans table states "Unlimited Orders Per Month" for its paid plans. DSers' checked pricing and listing do not state a monthly order cap. That silence is not an unlimited-order promise, and its product allowance is not an order quota.
DSers Basic is a working baseline, but bulk entitlement conflicts
Basic's $0 subscription is not merely a paid-plan trial. The DSers plan guide distinguishes Basic from paid subscriptions and says the paid-feature trial starts when you activate a paid plan, not when you sign up.
There is a specific conflict to resolve if bulk submission matters. The DSers Shopify listing puts "Bulk order to AliExpress/1688/Agent" under Basic. Its bulk-order help says: "This feature is available on paid plans." Do not budget on guaranteed free bulk access until DSers confirms your account's entitlement. That uncertainty does not remove Basic as the baseline for individual orders.
In the first-order walkthrough, DSers creates an unpaid AliExpress order, then redirects the merchant to AliExpress to pay. The Auto-Place Orders page covers Alibaba.com and the Supplier Agent Network and directs AliExpress users to batch submission instead. It does not establish a complete tariff, eligible plan list or automatic supplier payment. Tracking sync is not proof that checkout happens without you.
Count your catalog correctly, too. DSers product-limit help says hidden products and products removed from stores still count toward the store-product limit. Supplier products in the Import List and product mappings have a separate count. Its Shopify listing warns of extra-product charges on paid plans but does not publish the rate. A bigger catalog or needed feature is a reason to check a paid plan, not a reason to skip Basic automatically.
Zendrop's free plan does not replace free order processing
Zendrop's plans guide says its free Flex tier lets you browse, but "you can't import products or process orders." The Shopify listing agrees: "No linked products allowed."
Remaining free is a separate billing question, and Zendrop's help is inconsistent. The trial-end guide says: "No products linked? You drop to the Free Plan." The Flex guide says remaining free requires no products linked during the cycle, no minimum commitment and "The app is uninstalled before the next billing cycle begins".
Do not rely on unlinking alone to stop charges. Ask Zendrop to confirm the requirement for your billing model before the deadline. Its trial-end guide also warns that an already-generated invoice may still be processed after uninstalling.
Check the product quote before the subscription
A lower software subtotal cannot tell you which supplier route costs less for the same delivered product. Zendrop's shipping guide states that shipping is calculated per product, not per order. It directs readers to the product's SKU table and destination selector for the actual charge. DSers' AliExpress walkthrough separately requires supplier payment.
Before committing, identify the product variant, destination, product price, shipping charge and who takes payment. Use the supplier checks before choosing an app to separate a software feature from evidence about the supplier.
Keep DSers Basic on the shortlist when its individual-order workflow fits. Pay for Zendrop only when its catalog or quote route fits and the account's billing terms are clear. For different catalog sizes, compare software charges at your own inputs, using the source dates shown there.
